What We Do

Workshops and consultancy

Deflect + Protect are an autistic founded and run non-profit. We deliver engaging informative training sessions focusing on digital harms and cyber safety. Deflect and Protect was founded to discuss the issues surrounding radicalism in the autistic community.  Our suite of workshops includes sessions focusing on online safety, radicalism, online gambling harms and media/digital literacy for young people. We explain how the internet affects our young people, especially young neurodivergent people.

We also specialise in consultancy focusing on digital harms, helping to develop and implement strategies to keep our young people safe online, focusing on safeguarding policies and directives, protecting young people from digital harms. 

Our Workshops

  • Media/Digital literacy

    Working with young or vulnerable groups of people explaining the content they consume, the subtext, parasocial relationships and working to discern what is nefarious.

  • Digital Gambling Harms

    These sessions are focused on the modern online gambling space, including unregulated crypto currency casinos, neurodivergent peoples propensities towards gambling addiction and the intersection between young people - video games and gambling.

  • Neurodiversity and crime

    These sessions focus on the criminal justice program, how to make neurodivergent friendly holding cells etc as well as best practice for dealing with neurodivergent people throughout the criminal justice sector.

  • Digital Harms

    These sessions focus on a broader look at digital harms, from hateful content, grooming online, neurodivergent young people and the risks associated with the internet.

  • Online radicalism

    Looking at the digital radicalism, including: online misogyny, the manosphere and sexist content, as well as extreme political ideologies including far-right, radical islam and Mixed Unstable Unclear ideologies.

    By working together, we can address various online risks and empower young people with the knowledge to navigate the digital world safely. Our workshops cover a range of digital harms.

Who do we work with

Our clients are wide range of services including public and private institutions. Such as, education providers including schools, colleges, SEND schools and universities.

The criminal justice system including, The Police, The Home Office, Probation service and Prevent partnerships as well as local authorities, charities and private sector organisations.
